Universal Voltage Tester

The tester is a portable instrument intended for:

• detecting the presence of specified AC and DC voltage levels;
• determining DC circuit polarity;
• checking circuit continuity, including motor, starter, transformer and contactor windings;
• checking diodes, transistors, thyristors and similar components.

Tester construction
The tester has a plastic housing. Its front panel contains 6 LEDs indicating the magnitude and polarity of the monitored voltage. One side has a probe with indication, and the other has a flexible probe at least 1,3 m long.

The tester contains a storage capacitor that provides an electromotive force after brief charging, eliminating the need for batteries. It is charged from a 110 — 380 V AC supply for 10 — 20 s.
