Description
Description
The load-break switches have a three-pole design with self-generated gas arc extinction, a built-in spring drive for the main circuit, and earthing blades above and below, or without earthing blades. They are operated manually using a removable handle for local control. The load-break switch also has:
— a trip electromagnet
— to enable automatic tripping, including when fuses blow;
— auxiliary contacts, normally open and normally closed
— for use in control and signalling circuits.
Purpose
The load-break switch is designed to switch and continuously carry rated currents in three-phase AC circuits at a frequency of 50 Hz and a rated voltage of up to 10 kV with an isolated or earthed neutral.
Load-break switches are used in indoor electrical switchgear assemblies.
